Video Contest 2016

video16_flyer artSolano County high school students can win up to $1,500 in cash in Solano County Water Agency’s fifth annual video contest.

Public Service Announcement videos must focus on the selected 2016 theme:

Fight the Drought: Make Every Drop Count

Judging will be based on entertainment value and originality, videography, style and organization, audio/sound, and movie content and accuracy, including whether the video incorporates the 2016 theme.

Video Contest Timeline

  • January 1 through Monday, April 11, 2016—Students may submit videos (remember to include a completed Entry Form)
  • Monday, April 11, 2016, 5:00 pm—Deadline to receive videos
  • April 12-29, 2016—Judging by water efficiency experts and community leaders
  • May 2, 2016—Winners will be announced on
  • May 2016 (Water Awareness Month)—Winners will be presented with cash prizes during a special presentation at their school

Special Prizes for Sponsoring Teachers

The three teachers that submit the most videos will each receive a $200 Amazon gift card (minimum eligibility is 10 videos per teacher).

Prizes for Students and Teachers

  • First place winner(s): $1,500 split 50/50 between student(s) and their sponsoring teacher
  • Second place winner(s): $1,000 split 50/50 between student(s) and their sponsoring teacher
  • Third place winner(s): $500 split 50/50 between student(s) and their sponsoring teacher
